WoLF released a statement this week in support of Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2021.

WoLF Legal Director Lauren Adams was invited by Alaska Senator Shelley Hughes to give testimony on Alaska Senate Bill 140, The Even Playing Field Act, on April 22, 2022. She was also given the opportunity to answer questions about radical feminism, gender abolition and sex-based rights.

During the past two weeks, WoLF focused on two “Save Women’s Sports” bills in South Carolina: SC House Bill 4608 and SC Senate Bill 0531.

Several Georgia senators are sponsoring a bill in the current legislative session aimed at protecting girls’ rights to single-sex sports at their schools and colleges.

The U.S. Department of Education plans to propose new Title IX rules in April of 2022. While the exact substance of the proposed rule(s) is not yet known, they are likely to have wide-ranging effects on the rights of women and girls to same-sex sports teams…

WoLF’s Executive Director, Dr. Mahri Irvine, expressed her support for laws protecting single-sex sports. “Mixed-sex sports can harm girls and women in a variety of ways,” Dr. Irvine said.

The new policy implements self-identification of sex. This means that sports teams can no longer exclude male athletes if they say they identify as something other than male. The same is true for locker rooms and bathrooms.
